Paris holds a special place in my heart for many reasons. After living in Paris for a few years, I have come to think of Paris as a second home. This guide offers you some recommendations for those looking to explore the different neighborhoods and cultures of the city.
Where to stay in Paris
Pavillon de la Reine: This impressive 17th-century residence is located right on Place des Vosges in the Marais.
Relais Christine: A secret garden-style hotel in Paris with palatial lodgings and gracious breakfast offerings.
Hôtel Grands Boulevards: An intimate, design-focused hotel with 50 unique (and gorgeous) rooms, plus a hidden vegetable garden and rooftop terrace.
Things to do in Paris
ART & SIGHTSEEING
In a city such as Paris, you are never without things to do. I would recommend exploring the many arrondissements and not limiting yourself to just the city centre. Of course visit the Tour Eiffel, especially if this is your first time in the city.
For those interested in the arts and history, head to Musée d’Art Moderne, The Louvre and Palais de Tokyo. Look online for times and catch a dance concert at Théâtre National de Chaillot.
For rock’n’roll fans, you can visit the Cimetière du Père Lachaise to pay respects to rock legend Jim Morrison of The Doors.
Finally, visit the newly renovated Ritz Paris and stop by the Bar Hemingway — for any literary fans interested to know where Hemingway spent time.
SHOPPING
To satisfy your shopping needs, definitely check out the newly reopened La Samaritaine and Galerie Vivienne. It is one of the most iconic arcades in Paris, offering a wide range of activities. If you are looking for a more unique experience try Leclaireur Sévigné in the Marais for all things design and fashion.
Shopping in Paris is a wonderful time, and there is always something to pique the interest of those with a sense for fashion.

COFFEE & BREAKFAST
Café Loustic: This espresso bar in Paris will be your go-to for your morning wake up call.
Coutume Café: This is a great cafe to grab coffee and pastries, but also a spot where you can get a heartier breakfast, or a lovely Paris baguette. Most people love this spot for its pancakes.
HolyBelly: Holybelly has two locations in the 10th arrondissement, and they’re great spots for breakfast and brunch. Kid- and pet-friendly, Holybelly is popular among both locals and tourists.
LUNCH & DINNER
Le Servan: This bistro gives off a vintage, cozy vibe, and serves up unique French-Asian inspired dishes like ginger pork belly.
Les Enfants du Marché: Located inside the market - Marché des Enfants Rouge - enjoy some of the city’s most stellar food and natural wine selection. They don’t take reservations so get there early!
Buvette: Located on the steep streets of South Pigalle near Montmartre, Buvette is a restaurant, cafe and bar all in one. It’s a cozy spot to enjoy any meal, but is highly praised for its croque-monsieur (which is available to order at any hour).

Le Perchoir: This cocktail bar in Le Marais has a chic rooftop bar with views of the Tour Eiffel. A perfect spot to end your night and witness the twinkling lights of Paris.
Le Verre Volé: This is a restaurant and wine bar along the Seine where you can enjoy a large selection of natural wines. If you get hungry, they also serve traditional French fare.
Le Mary Celeste: A cozy and lively neighborhood bar to drink cocktails or wine among friends. The longer you browse their extensive wine list, the more you’ll be tempted to order their inventive sharing plates.
Septime La Cave: This wine cellar is lively with locals and tourists alike – it’s the perfect spot to people-watch. The staff is friendly and will give recommendations on their favorite wines.
